Best Games of 2009: Robert Workman

1. 'Splosion Man

Earlier this year, we were playing The Maw and talking about how Twisted Pixel was set for bigger and better things.  Well, at the end of the summer, we got just that with ‘Splosion Man.  This side-scrolling platformer is both unique and incredibly fun, thanks to an explosive lead star bursting with energy.  You’ll blast ‘Splosion Man off walls, around obstacles, across rooms and into scientists, who you’ll happily turn into piles of steak.  The later levels are incredibly sick, and the multiplayer mode, where you work with a friend via co-op, is more fun than expected.  This is easily my favorite downloadable game this year, and Twisted Pixel plans to top it with the upcoming Comic Jumper.
