We don't even know where to begin. Looks like an Atari 2600 game.
Today, Konami announced the newest addition to its WiiWare line-up, a peculiar side-scrolling dance game called Tomena Sanner. In it, you take control of businessman Hitoshi Susumu, a man running behind schedule and rushing to reach his ultimate dance party. Yes, he has his own ultimate dance party. (We are jealous.)
Getting there is half the battle. As you work your way through the game, you’ll run into samurais, cowboys, robots and even T-Rexes, all of whom want to stop your dancing madness. You’ll need to fight your way past them in true mini-game fashion, playing baseball and matching up with note markers that appear on the screen.
There are nine levels in the game, including a city, a jungle and a stage that takes place on the moon. You can also play with up to four players in the game, matching up your best times through Wi-Fi Connection-supported leaderboards. In addition, there are several single-player modes in the game, including a fast-paced Turbo Mode and an Endless Level Mode, where the party never ends.
“Tomena Sanner stands apart from other downloadable titles because of its zany nature and very humorous take on casual gaming,” said David Daniels, director of marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment. “In bringing Tomena Sanner to a North American audience, we wanted to ensure that the game stayed true to its origins while also providing the essential ‘party game’ experience to consumers.”
The company failed to provide a release date and price, but we’ll probably see it in the Wii Shop Channel before year’s end. Be sure to check back for a review.
