We're counting the days until Perfect Dark arrives on Xbox Live (March 17th, by the way), and now we've got even more reason to anticipate it.
Microsoft's Ken Lobb had a chance to chat with Kotaku this week at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, talking about Rare's forthcoming first-person shooter. He stated that the game will allow you to use classic weapons from the Nintendo 64 shooter Goldeneye 007, including the gun trademarked after him (the Klobb). In addition, three multiplayer maps made popular with that game -- Facility, Temple and Complex -- will be included in the game as well, just as they were in the original.
This is big news, especially following those squashed rumors that Goldeneye was being worked on for Xbox Live. This is definitely the next best thing...

What's sad is that this is the most talked about game from Rare in years.

Yeah, but it beats nothing. What I wouldn't give for a Killer Instinct comeback...or for that matter, Battletoads.
