Splosion Man Receives New Goodies

Whoah! Too many beans.

Twisted Pixel notified us today that it updated its Xbox Live Arcade game, Splosion Man, with some new features, and they’ll benefit not only your Avatar, but also your appetite as well.

The first of the three updates brings Avatar Awards to the forefront.  By completing tasks within the game, you’ll be able to unlock new items for your Avatar.  Two male and female items will be available, depending on what achievements you unlock.  No word yet if you can actually turn yourself into an actual Splosion Man (or Woman), but that would be awesome.

Furthermore, the company fixed the online multiplayer portion of the game.  Game sessions are no longer laggy, and connections don’t drop nearly as often as they used to.  Good news for gamers who like ‘sploding together. 

Finally, there’s a neat little contest that Twisted Pixel is sponsoring.  You know how in the game you can turn scientists into piles of steaks?  Well, the company teamed up with Omaha Steaks to give away some real beef.  You can win by registering the ‘Splosion Man gamer pic (now available on Xbox Live’s Dashboard), and playing online multiplayer now through November 22nd.  You get five chances to enter.
