Get ready for old school split screen racing, just like mom used to make.
The Mario Kart series has come a long way, culminating with last year’s release of Mario Kart Wii. Now it’s time to pay homage to the SNES classic that started it all.
Nintendo announced that the SNES racing favorite will be available for Virtual Console download starting this Monday on the Wii Shop Channel. Super Mario Kart features a variety of racers to choose from, along with crazy power-ups and sweet track designs. It’s quite simply 16-bit racing at its best. The game will set you back 800 points ($8).
Also, Nintendo will release Super Smash Bros. (N64) and Pilotwings (SNES) in the next few weeks.
